to my younger self:

you were braver than you believed, stronger than you seemed, and smarter than you thought.

To my younger self, I wish I could reach back through time and hug you tightly. I wish I could whisper in your ear that the tears you shed were not in vain, that the struggles you faced would mold you into the resilient person you are today.

Life has not been easy, I know. You faced storms that seemed unending, nights filled with tears, and days where hope felt distant. But you handled it all with a strength you didn’t even know you had. I see you now, standing tall despite the weight of the world on your shoulders.

You always felt like you were not enough, like every effort was met with failure. But let me tell you, those moments of doubt were seeds of your future greatness. Every stumble, every fall was a lesson that taught you resilience and grace. You became someone who rises, no matter how hard the fall.

Remember those dreams you had, the ones you tucked away because the world told you they were too big? You chased them anyway, sometimes with fear but always with determination. And look at you now—those dreams might not all be reality yet, but you are closer than you ever dared to believe.

You often felt lonely, even in a room full of people. Your heart ached for understanding and connection. But that loneliness taught you the value of self-love and the importance of finding your tribe. Now, you cherish those who truly see you and love you for who you are.

The scars you bear, both seen and unseen, are not marks of failure but badges of honor. Each one tells a story of a battle fought and won, of pain endured and overcome. You learned to heal, to forgive, and most importantly, to move forward with a heart that is whole again.

There were days when you wanted to give up, when the burden felt too heavy. But you didn’t. You found small pockets of joy, moments that made life worth living. Whether it was the warmth of the sun on your face or the sound of rain against the window, you found beauty in the mundane and solace in the simple things.

You doubted your worth, questioned your place in the world. But through those doubts, you discovered your strength. You learned that your worth is not defined by others’ perceptions but by your own belief in yourself. You found your voice and used it to carve out your place in this world.

The friendships that faded and the loves that broke your heart were not failures. They were part of your journey, teaching you what you need and deserve in a relationship. You learned to set boundaries, to love deeply but also wisely.

You’ve grown so much, more than you ever thought possible. The challenges you faced became the stepping stones to your growth. You are now a person who inspires others, even if you don’t always see it. Your journey has been tough, but it has also been beautiful.

To my younger self, I want you to know that you are enough. You always were. The battles you fought, the tears you cried, they were all part of a story that is uniquely yours.

I’m sorry for all the times I doubted you, for not always believing in your strength. I’m sorry for the moments of self-criticism and for not giving you the love and kindness you deserved. You were doing your best, and that was more than enough. You carried a heart full of dreams and a spirit that refused to be broken. For that, I am profoundly proud of you.

You survived every moment that felt impossible. You grew through every experience that tried to break you. You are the hero of your own story, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
